Plastic Pipe Types: How Many Do You Know About The Eight Common Types?
- Nov 29, 2018 -

ABS plastic tube (abs)

Its structural weight is small, one-seventh of the same specification steel. The chemical properties are stable, the fluid resistance is small, the sealing performance is good, the water quality is not changed, and there is no secondary pollution. The low cost of raw materials greatly saves engineering investment, the construction is simple and effective, the bonding strength is high, the curing speed is fast, and the leakage phenomenon of the general pipeline is avoided. ABS plastic pipes can last up to several decades in the room and will last longer if buried in the ground or in water. ABS plastic pipes are commonly used in the food industry, pharmaceutical industry, and the like.

Polybutene tube (PB)

Durable temperature resistance, chemical stability, good plasticity, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic, is one of the world's leading chemical materials, and has the reputation of “plastic gold”. It is light in weight, flexible and corrosion resistant. When used in pressure pipes, its high temperature resistance is outstanding. It can be used for a long time in 95 °C environment, and the maximum operating temperature can reach 110 °C. The surface roughness of the pipe is 0.007, no scaling and no need for insulation, which can effectively protect the water quality.

Type III polypropylene tube (PP-R)

The plastic pipe is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, light in weight and corrosion-resistant, the inner wall is not scaled and extremely smooth, the maintenance and construction is simple, and the service life is long. It is widely used in industry, agriculture, construction, municipal administration, etc.

Heat-resistant polyethylene pipe (PE-RT)

Has a very strong high temperature performance. It is usually used as indoor hot and cold water pipes and is used in hot water systems. It is an ideal choice for radiant heating applications. High strength, high fatigue resistance and excellent crack resistance.

Cross-linked polyethylene pipe (PE-X)

It has excellent wear resistance, thermal deformation, chemical resistance, stress crack resistance and so on. With its superior performance, it is widely used in drinking water pipelines and hot and cold water pipelines in construction engineering and municipal engineering. It is also used for pipes for floor heating systems or pipes for conventional heating systems, pipelines for pure water systems, fluid transportation for food industry, petroleum, chemical industry fluid pipelines, refrigeration system pipelines, and buried gas pipelines.

Polyethylene pipe (PE)

This kind of pe plastic pipe has developed rapidly in recent years. Compared with traditional pipe, it has more reliable connection, better low temperature impact resistance, better resistance to stress cracking, better chemical corrosion resistance and resistance to aging. It has better wear resistance, good flexibility, low water flow resistance and convenient handling.

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride pipe (CPVC)

The biggest advantage is that it is resistant to high temperatures. This kind of pipe has only been active in the market in recent years. It is usually used in hot water, hot chemical solution and waste liquid transportation pipeline. The long-term use of infusion can reach a temperature of up to 120 degrees Celsius and a long service life of up to 40 years. .

Hard polyvinyl chloride pipe (UPVC)

High hardness, high rigidity, corrosion resistance, easy adhesion, low cost, self-extinguishing, recyclable, anti-aging, long life, up to 50 years. It is very simple to install and has good sealing. This type of pipe is usually used to transport drinking water, and the standard should meet the requirements of GB/T 17219-1998.
